Think I’ll miss you forever
Like the stars miss the sun in the morning sky
Later’s better than never
Even if you’re gone, I’m gonna drive 💋

I never post on here and this is the first time in a while that I write something on this platform. But a while back I was a panelist talking to young girls in high school about college. There was a point where me and three other girls were talking about getting into college and the importance of test scores. I spoke my truth and basically said that test scores doesn’t matter. I added with saying that it doesn’t matter where you go, what you do with your time during this period matters more. So I just want to add that if you have a dream school and there is a lot of pressure of getting in it, then hell yea! Go for it! But if you don’t get into the school you want to go to- do not get frustrated. There are other ways of getting to where you want to be. Heck! go to the community college that the university you want to go to accepts. But never feel like you are worthless. I really hate how the school system creates this stigma of ‘if you don’t get into a good college then you are nothing.’ Bitch what the fuck, you don’t know who I am and what I am capable of. I was the type to take it very relaxed in high school because I always thought that we were way too young to be worrying about adult things. I literally graduated with a 2.5 gpa because I just wanted to have fun and be with friends honestly because that goes away when you graduate. I always promised myself that I would kill it in community college and get into the university I was gonna go as my second choice ( my first choice being community college because I come from a poor borderline middle class family). And guess what? I fucking did it. Oh, I want to add going the community college route for your first two years can save you a lot of money. Anyways, fast forward four years later and I’ve done 4 internships in the field of my study and I’ve done two of those at the same time. One internship marking almost 2 years and the other internship marking almost a year. OH OH OH I also want to add the I graduate community college with a 3.5. So please, do not feel less of yourself or insecure if you do not make it. Sometimes we might get wrapped up in the craziness of high school and the influences that it has.
